METAPHYSICAL MUSINGS…
It’s
time to turn the page again…a new calendar page, that is. We’ve
turned calendar pages each month, yet it doesn’t seem to have
the same significance as beginning a whole new calendar, does
it? Beginning a new calendar year, to me, is like beginning a
new chapter in a book. The major difference is that I’m not only
the “reader” of the book, I’m the writer! I’m the one who gets
to say what goes on the pages of my book. I don’t know about
you…my book isn’t a simple one-pager!
As
the author of my “Book of Life,” I’ve learned the importance of
allowing for the unpredictability of life. Yes, life IS
unpredictable (in case you haven’t noticed, yet!) and there are
circumstances in life, which may present a “crossroads”
experience. Standing at the “crossroads,” not knowing which
direction to choose, can bring up doubt, worry, even panic for
some folks. What makes the difference in confidently choosing a
direction at the crossroads? For me, it’s a KNOWING and a
LETTING.
Meister Eckhart, a 15th
century mytic, never prayed for God to fill him. He prayed for
God to empty him. The LETTING takes place when we’re empty,
rather than being full of ourselves. I have found the following
reading (by our old friend “Anonymous”) to be most meaningful
and want to share it with you for your journey…
“When
you have come to the edge of all the light you know…
And
are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown…
Faith
is knowing one of two things (or both) will happen;
There
will be something solid to stand on
Or
you will be taught to fly.”
